The precision and error tolerance of a sample rate refers to how closely real and requested rates match. The default is ± 1% -- i.e., if the 'real' rate (calculated from the start and end of sampling) is within 1% of the requested rate, no warning is issued and the requested rate is saved with the data file. If real and requested rates differ by > 1%, a warning IS issued and the real rate is saved.
This window lets you adjust the allowable error . Note that extremely high precision (better than ± 0.1%) won't necessarily give useful increases in accuracy, since there are small inherent errors in the calculated rate (this is due to the way computers handle timing and screen-drawing functions).
